This love for baking originally began with MaDear's grandmother and was subsequently passed on to her mother, then to her. MaDear began baking teacakes in her home for her family.  Before long, relatives, neighbors, friends and acquaintances began to join in the family teacake eating and enjoyment.  The teacakes were so delicious, word began to spread.  Many people asked MaDear to bake teacakes for them and their families. MaDear began traveling in the U.S.A. to visit relatives and friends and was asked to bake teacakes in every home she visited.  MaDear’s Teacakes are popular in several states around the country.  MaDear lived a long fruitful 91 years, 1914 to 2005.  Before her passing, she was sure to pass her teacake recipe to each of her children and grand-children and it has become a family tradition and will be continue to be passed on from generation to generation.
