Planting Seeds, Cultivating Fruit, Multiplying Gifts

The 1st SIYC was held September 4-6, 1986 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana at the Inn on the Lake Hotel.  The theme was “… And Sow The Word” taken from John 1:1.  Over 200 delegates from Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas enjoyed the fellowship, inspirational music and the ministry of the young ministers.  The expenses for the convention were $1,969.00 and income, $4,041.55.

The Chairpersons were: Min. Isaac Carter and Andrea Sylvester.

Since then, the Southern Interstate Youth Convention has been held every Labor Day weekend in the following locations:  Texas, Mississippi, Louisiana, Georgia, Florida, Georgia, Alabama and Florida.
